Work placements outside of Denmark
Work placements abroad can take place in two ways:
They can either take place with a foreign employer or in the form of a posting where your Danish employer has contacts abroad.
Work placements abroad
If you find a work placement yourself with an employer abroad, you must make sure that it is approved by your school.
The AER will cover your travel expenses for interviews, but for no more than three trips. We will pay the amount when we have received your application with an approval of the trip from your school and receipts for your expenses enclosed.
Please note that if you apply for cash advance for travel expenses for interviews during the first-year introductory course, the trip must be approved by the AER in advance.
If you already have a letter of appointment for a work placement abroad, we cover:
Expenses for trips abroad and back home, also if you are attending a trainee school study programme. In addition, we pay for transportation during the school study programme equivalent to the cheapest public transportation.
• Expenses for moves abroad and back home
• Half of your housing expenses - DKK 1,800 a month at the most
• Contributions for deposits or fees to a real estate agent
• Compensation - during compulsory school study programmes in Denmark
In addition to the compensations during school study programmes, we can grant you up to max. DKK 25,000 a year for repayment of expenses.
Posting abroad
If you are posted abroad by your employer in Denmark, the AER will pay the amount to your employer.
If you and your employer have an approved educational agreement, we cover:
• Expenses for trips abroad and back home, also when you attend a school study programme in Denmark
• Expenses for moves abroad and back home
• Expenses for differences in salaries between the Danish and the foreign trainee salary
