Self-employed

If you are self-employed, contributions to ATP Livslang Pension (ATP Lifelong Pension) are voluntary.

You can join the ATP Livslang Pension by contacting us.

Advantages of paying into a ATP Livslang Pension:

- You will receive a supplement to your state-funded old age pension from the day you first draw your pension until the day you die

- If you are married, you have a common-law spouse, or you have children, they can be paid a lump sum if you die before you turn 70

- If your spouse works for you (without any salary agreement), your spouse can also pay a contribution to their own ATP Livslang Pension

- You obtain a cheap and lifelong pension - administration costs were only DKK 68 a year - the cheapest on the market.

How much does it cost?

It costs DKK 270.00 a month to maintain this pension at ATP. The amount can be deducted from your taxable income.

You must pay a contribution to ATP Livslang Pension each quarter.
Please note that you are only covered by the scheme as long as you pay your contributions on time.

Conditions

There are certain conditions that you must fulfil:
- You must have been a member of ATP as a wage earner for at least three years in total.
- You must have paid an amount which is equivalent to at least three years' contribution.

When a company closes down

If your company closes down or is continued in corporate form, you can no longer be registered in the scheme as a self-employed person. You must therefore contact us in such circumstances.

Manager and wage earner

If you are the director of a private or public limited company, you will be covered by the scheme as a wage earner. You must therefore continue paying contributions for yourself in the same way as you pay contributions for any employees.
