Self-employed people
Anyone who works may contract an occupational disease. As someone is self-employed you can also be covered by AES.
AES may pay compensation to you if you contract an occupational disease, the same way as employees in Danish and Greenlandic companies who are covered by statutory AES.

What is an occupational disease?
An occupational disease is an illness or disorder that is attributable to your work or the conditions under which you have worked.
You can obtain more information at Danish National Board of Industrial Injuries (Arbejdsskadestyrelsen).
What can I obtain compensation for?
If your disease is recognised as an occupational disease, you or your dependants may be entitled to various forms of compensation.
