About DA-Barsel
DA-Barsel is a maternity scheme for companies that are members of an employers' association organised under The Danish Employers' Confederation (DA) - and that have not established their own maternity scheme.
The specifics
DA-Barsel was established as a result of the private-sector collective bargaining negotiations in 2004. The object of the scheme is to compensate companies subject to the collective agreement of employees taking the statutory maternity leave.
The DA-Barsel scheme is operated by the ATP Group.
Who has to pay contributions to DA-Barsel?
If your company has employees subject to the collective agreement, it is required to pay contributions to DA-Barsel.
Even if the company pays for each employee, it is still the company – and not the employee – that is covered by DA-Barsel.
