Claim your pension
You must complete and return a special application form before we start paying out your pension.
Your pension
When you are nearing pensionable age, you will receive a letter stating the amount of your pension. The amount of your pension is used to determine whether you will receive pension benefits once a month or as a lump sum.
Please note that it is not possible to have your money paid out before you reach your pension age. This applies even though you leave Denmark.
Claiming your pension
When you turn 65, you will receive your ATP Lifelong Pension - either in the form of monthly pension benefits or as one lump sum.
- Monthly payment:
You will receive regular payments once a month for the rest of your life. If the Danish tax authorities have not informed us of your income tax rate, we will deduct tax at the rate of 55 per cent from your pension. - Lump sum:
All of your pension will be paid out as a lump sum - less 40 per cent for taxes.
You must complete and return this application form before we start paying out your pension. Please note that the bank will deduct a fee from every payment if the amount is transferred to a bank outside Denmark.
Shortly before your pension is paid out, you will receive a letter stating the exact amount you will receive.
Deferring your pension
You can choose to defer your pension. If you wish to do so, please tick the box "I wish to defer my ATP Lifelong Pension until:" on the form.
Working in another EEA country
If you work in more than one EEA country, you may be entitled to a higher pension. Click here for a list of EEA Countries.
If you have worked in another EEA country (other than Denmark) since 1 April 1964, please specify on the form about which countries you have worked in and when.
