SP - a special pension savings scheme
The Danish Parliament has decided to close this pension scheme.
What to do if I want to have my SP savings paid out?
If you have not already received your SP savings, you need to print out and sign one the forms:
Disbursement of SP if you reside in Denmark
Disbursement of SP if you reside outside Denmark
Send the form to ATP. If you wish to have your SP savings transferred to an account abroad, you also need to enclose a copy of your passport.
We will pay the savings into your account 6-8 weeks after receiving your request form.
Tax
You must pay tax on your SP savings to the Danish Tax and Customs Administration, SKAT. The tax rate is 35 per cent on the first DKK 15,000 and 50 per cent on amounts above that. When your SP savings are paid into your account, tax has already been deducted.
Tax payable if you reside outside Denmark
We are obliged to withhold tax and pay it to the Danish Tax and Customs Administration, SKAT, although you are not otherwise liable for tax in Denmark. This tax is not included in the double taxation agreements entered into by Denmark.
Disbursement in case of death
SP savings are not automatically paid out when an SP account holder dies. The account holder's next of kin need to contact ATP to have the SP savings paid out.
You will lose the right to your SP savings
If we do not receive your form by 30 April 2015, you will lose the right to claim your SP savings.
