• How do I report an occupational disease?
  • Your doctor or dentist has an obligation to report occupational diseases. You can also report the disease yourself.
  • You must report it to National Board of Industrial Injuries
• Who recognises the occupational disease?
  • National Board of Industrial Injuries will decide whether or not it is an occupational disease and will decide on the compensation that you or your dependants may be entitled to. The Labour Market Occupational Diseases Fund can appeal a decision within 4 weeks from the date of the decision.
• What can I obtain compensation for?
  • If your disease is recognised as an occupational disease, you or your dependants may be entitled to the following compensation: • Compensation for permanent injury • Compensation for the loss of the ability to work • Expenses for treatment, medication, aids, and appliances • Expenses during the treatment of the respective case • Compensation paid to dependants
• I have received a decision from National Board of Industrial Injuries. When will the reimbursement be paid out?
  • Labour Market Occupational Diseases Fund pays as soon as possible - and no later than 4 weeks after you have received a decision.
